The dedicated members of the Minooka Fire Protection District strive to provide reliable emergency services, public education and awareness for our customers in a cost effective and responsible manner.

Minooka Fire Protection District Wants You!!!!!

We realize that not everyone wants to enter a burning building, conduct medical care, or handle vehicle extrications. The Minooka Fire Protection District has some unique opportunities to get citizen involved with interest in a particular special operation or support role.

Minooka Fire District has several special operations that citizens may be interested in. You can of course be a volunteer firefighter and get trained in the service of fire suppression and rescue services, or you may have an interest in serving in one of the following special operations areas:

DIVER OPERATOR RESCUER
Diver Driver/Operator Technical Rescuer

To volunteer you must be at least 18 years of age, in good physical condition (able to pass a medical physical and physical agility test) and live within the Minooka Fire Protection District. Once you have completed the application stage and passed your physical requirements you will be placed in an orientation program that teaches you all about our operation.

Minooka Fire Protection District trains all of its firefighters to Illinois Certified Firefighter II. All EMT and Paramedics must be licensed by the State of Illinois at time of application and successfully pass the Will/Grundy EMS System test. All special operations positions (diver, rescuer, driver) will be trained to the level required by the Illinois Department of Labor.

If you are interested in exploring volunteer opportunities with Minooka FPD, stop in Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm to pick up an application.
